E-commerce website for innovative online venture.

The Client

The client for this project came to us with an idea that he wanted to convert into reality. He had built up a wealth of wine-related resources, and wanted to find a way to be able to sell these products online to an audience in the UK and beyond.

The Brief

We were asked to develop a Content Management System (CMS) based website that would allow visitors to view the products available for sale. They should then be able to add them to a virtual shopping basket before paying for the goods at checkout. Upon successful payment, the online resources should then become available for them to download.

Three main product types were to be created, including one 'subscription' which would allow the user unlimited access to the website and its downloads for a period of time.

Additionally, the development of a logo was required for the project, to be used on the website header and also on advertisements placed on other related websites.

Our Approach

From the outset, we wanted to create a website that was easy to navigate and browse. As with all ecommerce websites, the basket and checkout process had to be made as simple as possible. Almost all of the functions of the checkout process have been automated, so that virtually no input is required from the client, even for order fulfilment.

Image galleries are in use on each product page so as to allow prospective customers a good opportunity to view the products they are about to purchase.

Step by step instructions are also included on some pages so as to make the after-purchase experience equally as enjoyable.

The Results

The website ranks well in organic search results for key search terms. The purchasing process remains quick and simple, with customers having access to their purchases almost immediately.

If you have a project that you might need some help with, whether big or small, we'd love to hear about it.
